Black Bird

The Black Bird is a small neutral creature found in all chapters throughout the game. It flees from combat on its very first turn and deals damage only if struck while still adjacent — in which case it pecks back before escaping. Despite its near-harmless behavior, killing a Black Bird rewards the party with a permanent All Stats Up buff for the rest of the fight and a bonus item from the chapter's item pool, making it well worth chasing down quickly. Under the Birdemic weather event, Black Birds turn hostile and attack both player and enemy units, abandoning their usual flight behavior.
