Flying is a status effect that elevates the unit above the battlefield, granting immunity to ground-based hazards such as lava tiles, poison pools, and terrain effects. Flying units can pass over obstacles and other units during movement, giving them unparalleled positioning flexibility.
Flying is extremely valuable in areas with dangerous terrain like The Core's lava tiles or The Lab's toxic pools, as it allows a unit to ignore the primary environmental hazard entirely. Some enemies naturally have Flying, making them immune to terrain-based strategies and requiring direct attacks to deal with. Certain abilities and items can grant temporary Flying to player cats, which is especially useful for melee fighters that need to cross hazardous terrain to reach enemies.
