The Lab is an Act 3 Chapter 1 location set inside a sprawling underground research facility filled with failed experiments, chemical hazards, and mutated test subjects. The sterile corridors and containment cells give way to increasingly unstable zones as you push deeper in, with pools of toxic waste and electrified floor panels creating a dangerous navigation puzzle alongside every encounter.
Enemies in The Lab are primarily mutant and science-themed creatures with poison and electric affinities. Many of them can inflict Poison stacks or apply debuffs that reduce your cats' stats over time. Some lab enemies split into smaller copies when defeated, requiring you to manage both damage output and crowd control simultaneously. Bringing cleanse abilities and poison resistance is highly recommended, and earth-element attacks tend to perform well against the electric-type enemies found here.
The Lab features two boss encounters: Spewer, a massive toxic creature that floods the arena with poison tiles, and Stacy, a rogue experiment with erratic attack patterns and high burst damage. Spewer's fight becomes a race against the shrinking safe zone as poison tiles spread each turn, while Stacy's unpredictability demands flexible positioning and reactive play. Both fights test your team's ability to handle attrition-based challenges under pressure.
Clearing The Lab unlocks the Monk class, a discipline-focused class that excels at counterattacks and building combo chains. The Monk rewards patient, reactive gameplay where you set up defensive stances and punish enemies for attacking into you. Its abilities scale with combo count, making extended fights where you can build momentum particularly rewarding.
