Gambit is a 110 HP miniboss found in The Desert, built entirely around a D6 die mechanic. It takes three turns each round: manipulating or throwing the die on the first two turns, then consuming it on the third turn to execute an attack determined by the number rolled.

The die results range from mild (1: confusion on itself, 2: spawns a poop enemy) to catastrophic (5: 5x5 lightning storm with stun, 6: random explosions across the board dealing 10 damage each). Rolling a 4 triggers an earthquake with knockback and Bruise. Destroying the die after Gambit's second turn prevents the final attack entirely, making die destruction a critical interrupt when high numbers are showing.

Target the die when it shows 4 or higher to deny the worst attacks. Movement blockers prevent Gambit from rerolling unfavorable low numbers, locking in advantageous results. Inflicting Confusion on Gambit can prevent die activation entirely. Avoid auto-attacking summons like familiars that might destroy the die at the wrong moment — you want to control when the die is broken, not have it happen accidentally before Gambit's second turn.
