Mammoth Kitten

The Mammoth Kitten is a large cat-type enemy found in the Ice Age chapter. At 25 HP (50 champion) it is one of the tankier cat enemies in the game, and its melee attack launches struck units into the air. At the start of each turn it bruises and knocks back all adjacent units, creating a mandatory push effect that disrupts any cat trying to maintain melee range. It also has Trample, damaging units it walks over.
The turn-start knockback is the most disruptive element: a cat that closes to melee range for a strike will be pushed back at the start of the Mammoth Kitten's next turn, forcing repositioning every round. Combined with the launch-on-hit melee attack, sustained melee pressure is difficult to maintain. Its corpse requires three hits to destroy when it falls, and it drops substantial food on death.
Ranged and reach attacks avoid the turn-start knockback entirely. If engaging in melee, plan for the knockback at the start of each Mammoth Kitten turn and position your cat so the push doesn't land them in a hazard. High-burst single attacks reduce the number of melee engagements needed. After defeating it, note that the corpse needs three hits to fully clear if you need the tile or are running a corpse-interaction build.
