Poison Frog

Poison Frog is a toxic variant of the standard Frog that applies Poison on contact with its attacks. Unlike the regular Frog, which functions primarily as a utility familiar with its pull attack, the Poison Frog adds a persistent damage-over-time element to every engagement. It appears through specific events or summoning mechanics rather than as a standard roaming enemy.

The Poison Frog retains the pull attack of its standard counterpart, dragging targets within range 3 closer to itself while simultaneously applying Poison. This combination of repositioning and status application makes it more threatening than either ability alone: it pulls cats out of safe positions and leaves them poisoned in the process. Multiple Poison Frogs can stack Poison levels rapidly.

Like standard Frogs, Poison Frogs have very low HP and die to any focused attack. The key is eliminating them before they can pull and poison your cats. Ranged attacks are ideal since they avoid the pull entirely. If a cat does get poisoned, cleansing the status quickly prevents the damage-over-time from accumulating. Poison Frogs automatically target flying insects, particularly Flies, treating them as hostile regardless of faction.
