Enemy
Sabertooth Kitten
Young sabertooth cat, faster but weaker.
The Sabertooth Kitten is a cat-type enemy found in the Ice Age chapter. It is smaller than the Sabertooth Cat but still threatening: it performs a double-hit melee attack that inflicts Bleed, and at the start of its turn it executes an additional double-hit bleed attack against any adjacent enemies. It can also heal allied units, giving it a support function on top of its own offensive output. Like its larger sibling, it hates Cavemen and will prioritize attacking them.
The combined four Bleed stacks from a single round of attacks — two from the start-of-turn adjacency check and two from its regular attack — can accumulate rapidly on a cat that stays adjacent. In Ice Age rooms that mix Sabertooth Kittens with Yetis, the bleed from Kittens compounds with the Yeti's own bleed output, making sustained HP loss a serious concern. The healing support also means Sabertooth Kittens can sustain other wounded allies.
Do not stay adjacent to Sabertooth Kittens for multiple consecutive turns — the bleed stacks compound quickly. Kill them before engaging larger threats to eliminate their healing support. If Cavemen and Sabertooth Kittens are in the same encounter, consider letting them fight briefly before intervening, though be wary of Were Man transformations that can occur when cats attack cavemen. Bleed resistance or frequent healing is strongly recommended in Ice Age chapters where Sabertooth Kittens appear.
