The Bloat

The Bloat is a grotesque, corpulent monster that serves as the mini-boss of The End (Act 3, Chapter 3). With 250 HP and Movement 1, it barely moves — but it takes two turns per round, and its arsenal of blood-beam attacks, leaps, and reactive eye blasts makes every action your party takes a calculated risk. It inflicts Bleed with its straight shots, and each projectile hit worsens attrition across the fight.
Its BloatLeap ability launches it to a new position with shockwave damage that displaces units and creates water tiles. BloatSideLaser fires automatically from both eyes whenever a unit moves in front of them — side positioning is therefore dangerous, not safe. As it loses HP, detachable eyeballs spawn as separate invulnerable units that move one tile toward any unit that takes an action and deal Trample damage on contact, progressively cluttering the arena.
Patience and map-edge positioning are the keys. Chip from range, moving carefully to avoid triggering side-eye blasts. Do not bunch the party near The Bloat — its leap shockwave and side lasers devastate clustered units. As eyeballs accumulate, use low-cost spells from the arena's edge to distract them away from your main attackers. Spread out and maintain deliberate, methodical pressure to wear it down safely.
