The Wisp is a small undead enemy found in The Boneyard. Despite its tiny 1 HP pool, it is deceptively threatening because its melee strike applies Burn 2 and it can dodge one attack per turn entirely. The dodge is visualized by flames surrounding the Wisp's body, which extinguish after the dodge triggers. The dodge does not merely block damage — it sidesteps the hit completely, including knockback effects.
Because the Wisp has only 1 HP, any attack that connects kills it instantly. The challenge is landing that hit through the dodge. Champion Wisps have 5 HP and deal slightly more damage, making them noticeably more durable. The Wisp leaves no corpse on death. In groups, multiple Wisps each dodging once per turn mean that a single cat attacking into a cluster may land fewer hits than expected.
Apply the Marked status to nullify the Wisp's dodge entirely — Marked removes evasion, turning it into a free one-shot. Abilities tagged as 'always hit' also bypass the dodge. Thorns or Bleed Thorns kill a regular Wisp on contact before the dodge can trigger. Trample damage instantly destroys non-champion Wisps, sidestepping the dodge mechanic entirely. In The Boneyard, Wisps often accompany heavier undead, so dispatching them quickly prevents Burn stacks from compounding with other hazards.
