This is the VS (versus) variant of Zaratana encountered during the Pyrophina vs Zaratana boss fight, the third House Boss encounter in Act 2. In this fight, both Kaiju battle each other directly while the player's team is caught in the crossfire. This version of Zaratana has 1000 HP compared to the standard House Boss form's 600 HP, making it a far more prolonged and demanding presence on the battlefield.

VS Zaratana retains her core mechanics from the solo fight: Meteor Bombardment scatters rocks across the field, her end-of-round roar grants Levitation to all rocks, and Trample lets her charge through anything in her path. However, the chaotic two-Kaiju battlefield means rocks, fire, and trampling charges come from both directions simultaneously, making safe positioning far more difficult than in either solo encounter.

The key to surviving this encounter is staying out of both Kaiju's paths and letting them damage each other. The Eat Rock and Butcher abilities remain effective for managing Zaratana's rock hazards, but players must also deal with Pyrophina's fire spreading across the map simultaneously. Water-based abilities that counter Pyrophina's fire and rock-management tools that counter Zaratana's meteors are both needed to navigate this fight successfully.
