Zodiac is a gunslinger mini-boss with an aesthetic borrowed from Dirty Harry and real-world infamy — his cloak bears the insignia of the Zodiac Killer. With 75 HP, Movement 5, and a reactive shooting mechanic, this encounter fundamentally changes how your party must move. Zodiac fires at any unit that steps to a new tile, making standard repositioning a liability.

His revolver holds exactly 6 bullets. Attempting a 7th shot causes Zodiac to become confused and holster his weapon, creating a brief safe window. On his own turn, he moves to a random tile and may fire if ammo remains. He only reloads when out of bullets on his turn — meaning burning through his ammo quickly with bait movements or cover objects can force a reload window. Abilities that trigger automatic attacks (like Tower Defense or Kinetic Spikes) are dangerous here, as they move units reactively and can trigger endless shooting loops.

Ranged classes (Hunter, Mage) excel by attacking without ever moving, avoiding shot triggers entirely. Cover objects — especially Tires, which have infinite durability — are invaluable for bait-and-positioning. High-Constitution cats or those with stacked armor can absorb multiple hits to deplete his magazine faster. Force his reload, then burst him down during the window before he reloads.
