Bad Splinters

A bundle of sharp wooden splinters jammed into the neck, an uncomfortable arrangement that makes enemies equally unhappy about striking it. Bad Splinters trades CON -2 — reducing the wearer's maximum HP — for the Thorns passive, which deals damage back to any enemy that hits in melee. A straightforward damage-reflection deal: you lose some health in exchange for making every melee exchange costly for the attacker. Best on cats who have other sources of health or healing to compensate for the reduced Constitution.
