Burning Coals

A pile of smoldering coals that burns anything it touches. Burning Coals deals fire damage on contact and applies Burn to enemies, dealing damage over several turns after the initial hit.

The Burn status deals fire damage each turn until it expires, and Burning Coals applies it reliably with every hit. Fire damage interacts with enemy fire resistance and weakness, meaning it excels against flammable enemies but underperforms against fire-resistant ones. The upfront damage combined with Burn ticking can eliminate enemies well after the initial attack.

Best in fire-focused builds or runs where enemies are commonly fire-weak. Pairs with mutations and passives that increase Burn duration or stack additional Burn ticks on already-burning targets. Avoid in areas where fire-resistant enemies dominate, or keep it as a niche swap weapon for specific encounters.
