Fish Hook

The Fish Hook is a trinket in the Barbed set that converts any knockback your cat generates into bonus damage equal to the knockback distance. Rather than pushing an enemy back X tiles, it deals X extra damage on top of the hit. On its own this adds modest chip; paired with knockback-heavy abilities it becomes a meaningful multiplier.

The Tank class gets the most out of it. Batter Up generates 10 knockback, which converts directly to 10 bonus damage at 5 mana. Home Run increases knockback values, scaling Fish Hook's damage further. Even Nudge, which generates minimal knockback at 0 mana per turn, converts that small push into free chip damage. The effect applies to any knockback source — abilities, items, mutations — so any build that regularly generates pushback should evaluate this trinket seriously.

Best on Tank class cats or any build with multiple knockback sources like Spring Board, Pop Cap, or Pinwheel. Even on builds with just one knockback weapon, Fish Hook turns those swings into better damage than their base stats suggest. As a Barbed set piece it pairs naturally with Meat Hook and Barbed Mask for set synergy. Skip it only on builds with no knockback whatsoever — otherwise the bonus damage comes for free.
