Barbed Set

The Barbed Set combines health (via +2 Constitution) with retaliation (via +3 Thorns), rewarding enemies for attacking you. Higher Constitution means more HP to survive incoming hits while Thorns racks up passive damage with each strike received. This set thrives on tanks and brawlers who want to turn being a target into an advantage.

Barbed Set pieces are spread across multiple equipment slots including weapons, Head, Neck, Face, and Trinket variants, giving it one of the broadest piece pools of any set. The 3-piece bonus grants +2 Constitution (more max HP) and +3 Thorns (damage returned to attackers). Thorns damage triggers on every physical hit received, so enemies that attack repeatedly will take significant cumulative damage back.

Barbed Set suits frontline fighters who intentionally soak damage. The more enemies target you each round, the more Thorns damage activates, making it especially effective against swarms or multi-attack enemies. Pair with the Guts Set's Constitution bonus or Godhead Set's healing to maximize HP, ensuring you stay alive long enough to keep dealing Thorns retribution. Caveat: Thorns has reduced value against enemies that deal damage through non-physical means or poison, since those typically bypass Thorns entirely.
