The Ringworm is a parasite face item that colonizes the skin around the wearer's face, dealing a CHA -3 penalty — the heaviest charisma hit of the named worm parasites. In exchange, its passive AddStatusToBasicAttack appends a status effect to the wearer's standard attacks, giving their basic offensive output an extra layer of pressure beyond raw damage.

AddStatusToBasicAttack means every basic attack applies a secondary status condition to the target. The specific status depends on the item's configuration but typically includes debuffs like poison, slow, or weakness. This makes the Ringworm a force multiplier on high-attack-rate characters — the more often they hit, the more frequently the status procs. CHA -3 will harm social interaction checks and CHA-scaling abilities, making it a poor fit for charisma-forward characters.

Pairs well with fast attackers and weapon-focused builds that make many basic attacks per round. Classes that rely on basic attacks rather than special abilities benefit disproportionately from the status application, since it scales with attack frequency. Avoid on builds that use CHA for abilities or NPC interactions. Stacking multiple status-on-hit items can overwhelm enemies with layered debuffs, and Ringworm fits naturally into that strategy from the face slot.
