SpawnThingOnDamage deposits scabies mites onto any enemy that strikes the wearer, spreading the infestation outward with every hit received. Cats who tank hits deliberately can use Scabies to infect entire enemy formations, making the Bruise on self a worthwhile trade for the parasitic counter-spread.

Bruise on the wearer is a persistent debuff that weakens their combat performance. The offsetting SpawnThingOnDamage fires on every incoming hit, meaning the more the wearer is attacked, the more scabies spread to the attackers. The face slot position means Scabies competes with defensive face options like Sacculina Carcini or Amoeba for the same threat-tanking role, offering spread potential instead of raw Shield values.

Scabies is a cornerstone of parasite-spread build archetypes. Combine it with Lice (head) and Hookworm (neck) on the same tank to create a multi-slot infestation machine that spreads a different parasite from each piece with every incoming hit. The Bruise debuffs stack with other downsides, so build the wearer with enough CON and Shield to survive absorbing all those hits while the infection spreads.
