A common melee weapon with 7–12 uses that deals 2 damage and inflicts Bleed on each hit. Bleed applies damage over time, so the low base damage is supplemented by the stacking DoT on repeated hits. An early-game staple recommended for The Desert, The Bunker, and The Boneyard chapters — widely available and effective against a broad range of enemies without requiring specific abilities.

Bleed deals physical damage at the end of the afflicted unit's turn, and multiple Bleed stacks accumulate from repeated hits. The Shard of Glass's variable 7–12 durability means it can last anywhere from a few fights to many, making it difficult to plan around but always useful when available. The 2 base damage per hit is low, so the weapon's effectiveness scales with how many Bleed applications you can stack — consistent melee pressure turns it into a reliable damage-over-time tool even without special synergies.

Shard of Glass is a strong early-game pickup that comes into its own in Bleed-focused builds, where items or mutations that amplify Bleed damage multiply its value significantly. Pair it with abilities that proc off Bleed or mutators that increase Bleed stacking speed. Even outside dedicated Bleed builds, the consistent DoT makes enemies slightly easier to wear down over longer fights. Its common rarity means you'll often see it as an option — don't dismiss it even in mid-runs when Bleed amplifiers are already on the team.
