The Bunker
Military Bunker / Underground Facility
The Bunker is Act 2's Chapter 2 on Path A, unlocked after completing The Desert. This old, gloomy underground nuclear bomb shelter is filled with mini nukes, pools of radioactive sludge, cultists, robots, and mutated creatures. Its theme song, "Alone in the Dark," captures the survivalist-cult atmosphere of this military-industrial nightmare. Completing The Bunker and speaking with Butch unlocks the Tinkerer class, a tech-focused option with unique "Tech" stacks for weapon damage and familiar buffs.
The Bunker's core mechanic revolves around enemies that gain buffs from chip damage, incentivizing high-burst kills over gradual wear. Toxic Waste tiles deal damage to units that enter them, and Mini Nukes are scattered across maps: destroying them triggers AoE explosions that damage everything nearby, friend and foe alike. This creates a tactical layer where positioning near nukes can be turned to your advantage or backfire catastrophically.
The enemy roster is a mix of cultists and machines: Atomic Kittens, Robo-Cats, Security Bots, Love Bots, and Kill Dozers represent the mechanical side, while Cat Cultists, Cultist Zealots, Cultist Mutants, Cultist Bishops, and Bishop Hats form the fanatical human contingent. Hives and Floating Hives add swarm pressure. Mini-bosses include Lenny and Bumblefoot.
The chapter boss is Johnny (250 HP), a massive immobile mutant with psychic and telekinetic abilities who occupies 4 tiles and is immune to knockback. Johnny's offensive abilities only activate when adjacent Cultist Lackeys are washing him, making add management the fight's core challenge. He uses Mind Control (charms one ally), Mind Blast (2-tile radius damage plus knockback), Super Mind Blast (larger radius), Telekinesis, and can Summon or Reanimate up to 3 Cultist Lackeys. When Johnny dies, surviving Lackeys transform into Cultist Zealots. The fight is won through space control and denying tiles where Lackeys can reach Johnny, not through raw DPS.
Exclusive loot includes the Radioactive set (Hat, Mask, Necklace) with shield benefits and debuff auras, Leather Hood, Ball Gag, Man's Glasses, the Demon Core weapon, Crusty Sock, and Experimental Treatment (stat trade-offs). The hard path rewards a Rare Furniture Box and a Rare Treasure.
