Spring Board

The Spring Board is a 2-damage melee weapon in the Wood set that throws the target 3 tiles backward on hit. The damage is incidental — the point is the displacement. Three tiles is a meaningful push: it can drop an enemy into a gap, shove a flanking threat off your cats, or buy a turn by resetting the enemy's advance. At common rarity it's a reasonable early option, though 3-tile repositioning becomes less decisive as fights grow more complex.

The knockback is directional and fires immediately on hit, so positioning your cat before attacking determines where the enemy lands. Pushing enemies into walls stops the full 3-tile movement and can pin them momentarily. It also interacts with Fish Hook in the trinket slot, which converts each knockback point into bonus damage — Knockback 3 from Spring Board with Fish Hook equipped adds 3 bonus damage per hit, substantially improving its offensive output.

Best on melee cats who want to control enemy positioning rather than stack raw damage. Useful for separating grouped enemies, clearing melee range to allow your team to attack safely, or punishing enemies that close in. With Fish Hook it becomes a legitimate damage weapon as well. Part of the Wood set, so it contributes to set bonuses if you're running Oak Helmet or other Wood pieces alongside it.
