Oak Helmet

The Oak Helmet is a common head armor in the Wood set providing +3 Shield with one downside: Flammable. It's straightforward protection that holds up fine outside of fire-heavy zones, but becomes a liability in encounters with flame-type enemies or hazards. A reasonable early-game pick for the head slot if you can avoid burning.

+3 Shield at common rarity is respectable for a head armor. Flammable means fire damage or the Burn status can destroy or damage the item faster than normal, but if the current zone has no fire threats, that vulnerability is irrelevant. The Wood set membership makes Oak Helmet a building block for set synergies alongside other Wood pieces, which tend to share this same Flammable vulnerability as a thematic cost.

Best used in non-fire environments or on cats with fire immunity from other sources like the Scarf or ember-resistant mutations. In ice or physical-damage zones it's a clean +3 Shield with no practical downside. Avoid it when you know fire-type enemies are ahead, or when you're heading into levels where Burn is a common enemy mechanic. Replace with something that won't ignite when a better head piece eventually appears.
