The boX

The boX is a rare trinket with 4 durability charges and a Reset ability. Resetting something mid-combat is a powerful effect — it likely restores ability cooldowns, refreshes status stacks, or resets some other limited resource. With 4 uses you can activate it fairly liberally throughout a run, making it useful as a tactical recovery tool when you need a do-over in a tough fight.

Reset effects in roguelikes typically restore a cooldown or rewind a resource to its default state, which can be used offensively or defensively. If The boX resets ability cooldowns, the cat can immediately recast an ability they just used, effectively doubling its output in that turn. Alternatively if it resets enemy cooldowns or statuses, it may be a denial tool. With 4 charges the trinket lasts through multiple encounters without running dry quickly. Each charge should be treated as a decision point: save them for critical moments or burn them liberally to keep momentum going.

The boX is most valuable on cats with powerful high-cooldown abilities that they want to use twice in a fight. Pop a charge immediately after an ability fires to get a second use before the cooldown prevents it. Builds that have one dominant ability they wish they could cast more often get the most mileage out of each charge. With 4 total uses this lasts through roughly 4 key moments, so it contributes at a steady rate across the mid-game rather than being a single-fight trump card.
