Wood Shoulder Pads

A shoulder armor piece from The Crater, part of the Wood set. It offers +2 Shield and Thorns — reflecting damage back at melee attackers — but comes with the Fragile and Flammable tags, making it vulnerable to fire and certain break conditions.

The Thorns effect punishes enemies that attack you in melee, making this piece more valuable in fights where you expect sustained physical contact. Fragile means it can be destroyed by certain attacks, and Flammable means fire damage has a chance to destroy or trigger negative effects on it. In fire-heavy areas, this item becomes a liability.

Best used in The Crater where fire hazards are less common and melee enemies are plentiful. Builds that lean into Thorns — stacking it across multiple Wood set pieces or pairing with Cactus gear — can squeeze real damage out of this passive deflection. Avoid bringing it into fire-element encounters or against enemies with break-targeting effects.
