Elite Buff: Evolving

Internal engine status effect. This is the status applied to elite enemies with the Evolving modifier. Evolving causes the enemy to grow stronger over time during the fight, gaining stat increases each turn or after certain triggers. The longer an Evolving elite survives, the more dangerous it becomes.

Evolving creates an escalating threat that incentivizes fast burst-down strategies. In the first few turns, the elite may be manageable, but after several rounds of stat growth, it can become overwhelming. The stat gains are cumulative, so each turn the elite survives compounds its advantage. This makes Evolving one of the most time-sensitive elite modifiers to deal with.

Prioritize Evolving elites above most other targets, as delaying their elimination only makes them harder to kill. Front-load your damage with burst abilities and Marked or Magic Weakness debuffs to maximize early damage. If the fight drags on, the Evolving elite's stats may outscale your team entirely. In multi-elite encounters, always target the Evolving enemy first regardless of what other modifiers are present.
