Taunting

Taunting is a tanking buff that forces nearby enemies to target the taunting unit instead of other allies. This redirects enemy attacks away from vulnerable team members and toward the designated tank, enabling team compositions where a durable cat absorbs damage while fragile damage dealers operate safely.

Taunting is most effective when the taunting unit has high Constitution, Shield, Brace, or other defensive capabilities to survive the concentrated enemy fire. Without adequate defenses, Taunting can quickly get the taunting unit killed. The buff pairs naturally with Thorns and Counter Attack, which punish enemies for hitting the taunting unit.

Taunted is the corresponding debuff applied to enemies, forcing a specific enemy to target a particular unit. Together, Taunting and Taunted create a comprehensive threat management toolkit for strategic team play. Taunting is essential for protecting squishy spellcasters and support cats that would otherwise be targeted by enemy AI.
