Meteor Shower
MeteorShower: 25
Meteor Shower is a rare extreme weather effect in Mewgenics that bombards the battlefield with flaming meteors at the end of each turn. Each meteor strikes a random tile, dealing high damage to any unit standing there and creating fire tiles on impact.
The randomness of Meteor Shower makes it impossible to consistently avoid. There is no warning indicator (unlike Solar Flare), and the strike location is completely random each turn. A meteor can hit an empty tile harmlessly, or it can land directly on your most valuable cat and deal catastrophic damage. Over the course of a multi-turn fight, the probability of at least one meteor hitting a cat (yours or the enemy's) is high.
Spreading your team across the battlefield is the primary defensive strategy. If your cats are clustered together, a single meteor strike can damage multiple units via the fire tiles it creates on impact. Spread positioning reduces the chance that any one meteor affects more than one cat.
Fire resistance items, Shield stacking, and high HP pools all provide insurance against meteor damage. A cat with enough defensive buffs can survive a direct meteor hit and continue fighting. Water abilities are valuable for cleaning up the fire tiles created by meteor impacts, preventing the post-impact fires from restricting your movement options.
Meteor Shower can appear in any biome and is classified as a rare weather. It creates a constant background threat that makes every fight feel more urgent and dangerous.
