Restless Dead
GlobalSpawnOnRoundEnd: {"object":"NeutralZombieKitten"}
Restless Dead is a creature-spawn weather effect in Mewgenics that raises zombies from the ground at the end of every round, creating an escalating wave of hostile enemies that grows more dangerous the longer a fight lasts.
This escalation mechanic is what makes Restless Dead so threatening. In a typical encounter, you face a fixed number of enemies and can plan your strategy around that count. Under Restless Dead, the enemy count increases every single turn. By round 3, you might have 3 extra zombies on the field. By round 6, you could be facing 6 or more additional hostiles on top of the original encounter roster. Combined with the Exhaustion timer at turn 10, Restless Dead creates extreme pressure to end fights as quickly as humanly possible.
Rush-down strategies are not just preferred under Restless Dead: they are mandatory. Every turn spent on careful positioning, resource conservation, or attrition play is a turn that adds another zombie to the field. High-burst-damage builds that can eliminate the main enemy threats in 3 to 4 turns will barely notice the zombies. Slow, defensive builds will find themselves buried under a growing horde.
If you cannot kill the main enemies quickly, the best fallback strategy is to focus exclusively on the primary targets while ignoring zombies unless they physically block your cats' paths. Zombies are hostile but typically have lower stats than the zone's main enemies, so they are a nuisance rather than a lethal threat individually. The danger is in their cumulative numbers.
Restless Dead can appear in any biome and is classified as an uncommon weather. It is one of the strongest arguments for always having at least one high-damage rush build available in your roster.
