Tornadoes is a rare environmental weather effect in Mewgenics that spawns twisters on the battlefield each round, creating sources of powerful and unpredictable displacement. Unlike the one-tile wind push from Windy or Thunderstorm, Tornadoes can fling units multiple tiles in unexpected directions, making it one of the most positionally chaotic weathers in the game.

Twisters are physical objects on the battlefield that can move between rounds, sweeping across the arena and catching units in their path. A cat that gets caught by a twister mid-movement or ends its turn adjacent to one may be flung across the map, potentially landing on hazards, in enemy threat ranges, or completely out of position for the next turn.

This extreme displacement makes precise positioning nearly impossible to maintain. Builds that depend on specific formations, like front-line tanks protecting rear-line mages, or flanking setups that require exact tile placement, will struggle enormously under Tornadoes. The twisters disrupt these arrangements every round.

The most effective approach under Tornadoes is to build flexible, independent cats that can function well regardless of where they end up on the map. Ranged builds that can attack from any position, AoE abilities that do not require targeting specific tiles, and self-sufficient cats with personal healing or defensive passives all perform well. Knockback Resistance items reduce the displacement distance, and anchor-type abilities can prevent displacement entirely.

Tornadoes can appear in any biome and is classified as a rare weather. When it shows up, expect chaotic, unscripted fights that reward adaptability and punish rigid strategies.
