Disorder

Clumsy

Reduced coordination

Clumsy imposes DEX -2 on your cat, reducing its Dexterity stat by 2. Dexterity affects accuracy, dodge chance, and various skill-based mechanics. The -2 reduction makes the cat less precise with attacks and less able to evade incoming hits, creating a dual penalty to both offense and defense.

Clumsy is heritable and can pass from parent to kitten through breeding. It can also be acquired through events or applied with a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder. Among the stat-penalty disorders, Clumsy targets Dexterity, which has broader combat relevance than some other stats since it affects both hitting enemies and avoiding their attacks.

Clumsy should be replaced when possible, especially on builds that rely on accuracy or evasion. The Shining (attacks cannot miss) can negate the accuracy component of the DEX penalty. Dodge-focused builds (Nudist, Anxiety) are more affected since the DEX loss reduces their evasion. For cats that use guaranteed-hit abilities or do not rely on dodge, the Dexterity reduction is less impactful. Overall, Clumsy is a moderately harmful disorder that affects a wide range of mechanics.
