Diabetes
When you end your turn, if you haven't eaten food, gain All Stats Down and Confusion 1. Each time you eat food, cleanse all your debuffs and gain +1 [img:int].
Diabetes creates a food management minigame for your cat. If you end your turn without having eaten food, you gain All Stats Down and Confusion 1, punishing turns where you do not feed. Conversely, each time you eat food, all your debuffs are cleansed and you gain +1 Intelligence permanently. This turns food consumption from an optional bonus into a mandatory action that, when maintained, provides powerful permanent stat growth and debuff removal.
Diabetes is heritable and can pass from parent to kitten through breeding. It can also be acquired through events or applied with a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder. The +1 Intelligence gain per food eaten is permanent and cumulative, meaning a cat with Diabetes that eats food every turn will accumulate significant Intelligence bonuses over the course of an adventure. The debuff cleanse on eating also makes the cat surprisingly resilient against debuff-heavy enemies.
Strategically, Diabetes is excellent when paired with reliable food sources. Leprosy (spawns food when hit), Severed Thumb (spawns food at battle start), and food-generating items all synergize by providing the food needed to maintain the buff cycle. On caster cats that benefit from Intelligence, Diabetes is particularly powerful since each feeding gives a permanent INT boost. The main risk is running out of food in a battle, at which point the All Stats Down and Confusion penalties kick in. Plan your food supply carefully and Diabetes becomes one of the strongest scaling disorders in the game.
