Vegan prevents your cat from eating meat, restricting its diet to non-meat food sources only. In Mewgenics, food comes in various types, and meat is one of the more common and effective food categories. By removing meat from the cat's diet, Vegan limits healing and buff options that normally come from meat-based consumables, requiring you to rely on alternative food sources.

Vegan is heritable and can pass from parent to kitten through breeding. It can also be acquired through events or applied with a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder. The dietary restriction primarily affects out-of-combat food consumption and in-battle food pickups. If your adventure involves mostly meat-based food drops, Vegan can significantly limit your healing options. However, if non-meat food is readily available, the impact is minimal.

Strategically, Vegan is a mild dietary restriction rather than a severe combat handicap. The disorder interacts with Diabetes (which requires food each turn) by limiting the food types that satisfy the requirement, making the combination riskier. Necrophage's corpse-eating mechanic may also be affected since corpses could be classified as meat. For cats that do not rely on food-based healing, Vegan is a harmless filler disorder. Replace it only if you need the slot for something more impactful.
