Speedy grants the elite enemy +4 Speed Up, significantly increasing its movement range per turn. The enemy appears slightly brighter with a white-tinged glow. This extra movement lets the elite cover far more ground each turn, closing gaps to reach your backline or repositioning to avoid unfavorable positions. Speed Up also affects turn order in some contexts, potentially letting the enemy act before your cats can react.
Speedy is particularly dangerous on melee enemies that normally struggle to reach ranged cats, since the +4 movement removes their primary weakness. A Speedy bruiser can cross the entire battlefield in a single turn to hit your fragile backline mage or healer. It is also threatening on enemies with area-of-effect abilities, since the increased movement lets them position optimally before unleashing their attacks. Speedy combined with high damage makes an enemy that can both reach and kill priority targets before your team can respond.
Slow effects like Tarred reduce the Speed bonus and can partially neutralize the threat. Knockback abilities force the Speedy elite to waste its extra movement closing the gap again. Wall-off strategies using terrain, summons, or abilities that create blocking tiles can funnel the Speedy enemy into predictable paths. If you cannot slow it down, position your fragile cats behind your tanks so the Speedy enemy has to go through your frontline first. Root and immobilize effects are especially high-value against Speedy elites since they completely waste the movement advantage.
