Static is the boss variant of the electric-discharge elite buff. The boss arcs 1 point of Electric-element spell damage to all adjacent tiles whenever it finishes moving. The boss has a yellow-gold tint with a passive energized particle effect. Every movement action triggers the discharge, so a boss that moves multiple times per turn or covers long distances can zap adjacent cats repeatedly. The Electric element means the damage interacts with water tiles and conductivity mechanics.
Boss arenas are often more constrained than regular rooms, making it harder to avoid adjacent positioning to a moving boss. Static boss fights in small arenas become a constant game of dodging the electric discharge zones. The boss's movement is often part of its attack pattern, meaning the Static damage is layered on top of its normal ability rotation. Static combined with Speedy on a boss creates a lightning-fast threat that discharges electricity across half the arena every turn. Water tiles in the arena amplify the electric damage through conductivity.
Stay out of tiles adjacent to the boss's movement path and predicted destination. Immobilize, root, or freeze effects prevent the boss from moving and therefore prevent all Static discharges. Ranged cats positioned far from the boss's movement corridor avoid the damage entirely. Electric resistance items or elemental immunities negate the discharge damage. If the arena has water tiles, remove or avoid them since they conduct the electric damage to a wider area. Time your positioning to be adjacent only when the boss has already finished moving for the turn.
