Static

Static causes the elite enemy to arc 1 point of Electric-element spell damage to all adjacent tiles whenever it finishes moving. The enemy has a yellow-gold tint and a passive energized particle effect. This means every time the Static elite moves, any of your cats standing next to its destination tile take electric damage automatically. The damage triggers after each movement action, so enemies that move multiple times per turn can zap adjacent cats repeatedly.

Static is most threatening in tight corridors or small rooms where your cats cannot maintain distance from the enemy's movement path. Melee-focused teams suffer the most since they need to stay adjacent to deal damage and will eat Static procs every time the enemy repositions. Static combined with Speedy is especially nasty because the increased movement means more movement actions and therefore more electric damage pulses. Enemies that naturally move frequently or dash around the battlefield trigger Static damage constantly.

Ranged attacks let your cats deal damage without standing in the static discharge zone. If engaging in melee, attack from positions where the enemy is unlikely to move adjacent to you on its turn. Abilities that immobilize or root the Static elite prevent it from moving and therefore prevent the electric discharge entirely. Electric resistance or elemental immunity items reduce or negate the damage. Watch the enemy's likely movement paths and keep your cats out of the landing zones to minimize passive damage intake.
