Enemy
Astronaut
Movement: 1
The Astronaut is a spacesuit-clad cat enemy found on The Moon and in The Rift with 8 HP, 5 Shield, 5 damage, and only 1 movement in its regular form (16 HP, 10 Shield, 6 damage, 2 movement as a Champion). Despite its extremely slow base movement, the Astronaut compensates with Space Jump, a long-range leap that lets it close distance across the battlefield in a single bound. There is no indication as to why Astronaut enemies need space helmets when the player's cats do not.
The Astronaut's primary attack is the Astro Zapper, an electric-element melee strike with a very high probability of inflicting Stun. Getting zapped can lock down a cat for an entire turn, and in encounters with multiple Astronauts, chain-stunning can effectively remove party members from combat entirely. The combined HP and Shield pool makes Astronauts moderately tanky for a Moon enemy, requiring sustained damage to bring down.
The Lightning Aspect ability provides electric immunity, completely negating the Astronaut's Astro Zapper damage and Stun chance. Be aware that in Moon encounters, Astronauts can also Energize robot-type enemies like Rovers and Megasaucers with their electric attacks, potentially strengthening those allies. Keeping distance from Astronauts between their Space Jumps is ideal, as their 1-tile base movement means they are nearly immobile when the jump is on cooldown. Shield-bypassing attacks help deal with their combined defensive pool efficiently.
