Big Slime is a mini-boss found in The Caves (Act 1, Chapter 3). With 64 HP, 10 damage, and 4 movement, it charges directly at the party and can trample units in its path, unleashing a final Charge on its last turn. The real escalation begins on death: it splits into four Medium Slimes, each of which then splits into four Small Slimes, creating a cascade of sixteen small enemies that can rapidly overwhelm unprepared parties.
The recommended approach is to focus on killing one Medium Slime and managing the four Small Slimes it spawns before moving to the next, rather than spreading damage across all four Medium Slimes simultaneously. Uncontrolled splits leave the board flooded with Small Slimes at once.
