Cat Caller
Calls in additional enemy cats to join the fight.
The Cat Caller is a support enemy found in The Alley and The Sewers. With 7 HP, 4 damage, and 4 movement, it is a modest early-game presence. It deals no direct HP damage with its primary attack; instead, its ranged spell reaches up to 6 tiles and inflicts 2 Slow on a single target. Despite its low threat profile, the Slow stacks it applies compound in multi-enemy encounters, gradually crippling your cats' ability to reposition.
The Cat Caller counterattacks melee aggressors when struck in close combat, punishing cats that try to rush it down without a plan. If all damage-dealing allies on the enemy side are killed, the Cat Caller panics and flees rather than continuing to fight alone. This cowardly retreat behavior means you can often ignore it until the more dangerous enemies are dealt with, then mop it up at your leisure. Its Slow debuff can be worked around with careful positioning, especially if your cats have high base movement.
Champion Cat Callers have 14 HP, 5 damage, and 5 movement, making them sturdier and more mobile but still fundamentally a nuisance rather than a killer. The general strategy is to treat them as low priority since they cannot actually hurt your cats with their primary spell. Its design seems to be inspired by the concept of a human cat caller: someone who makes inappropriate comments about others, fitting its harassing support role in combat.
