Chummy

Chummy is a Junkyard enemy that spawns when a Chum Bag is defeated, transforming the stationary ranged threat into a mobile melee one. It attacks by dashing in a straight line with knockback, sending any cat it hits flying backward. Before each dash, Chummy will maneuver to align itself cardinally with a target, giving a brief window to predict its charge direction.

Chummy is smart enough to target units behind cover if the cover can be knocked into them by the dash, using environmental objects as battering rams. Its straight-line dash is powerful but predictable once you understand the alignment behavior. Between dashes, its movement is slow, giving you time to reposition between charges.

Diagonal positioning is the most effective counter to Chummy since it can only dash in cardinal directions. Staying off the same row or column prevents the dash from connecting. Ranged attacks that maintain diagonal positioning are ideal for wearing it down safely. Be aware that killing a Chum Bag always produces a Chummy, so plan for the transition when engaging Chum Bags.
