Cop Bot

The Cop Bot is a robotic law enforcement unit encountered in The Lab, Act 3's first chapter. It starts each encounter with one ammo unit and gains an additional round of ammunition per turn, combining melee capability with ranged suppression fire. Its most defining feature is its riot shield, which completely blocks damage from attacks that strike it from the front.

The Cop Bot's most disruptive behavior is its retaliatory fire: whenever an allied enemy takes damage, the Cop Bot shoots projectiles at the attacker in straight lines. This means attacking any other enemy in the room can simultaneously trigger the Cop Bot's ranged response. It can also trample units, displacing cats on contact. The Cop Bot shuts down automatically if all non-Cop Bot enemies are defeated first, and it has a notable exploit: it fires without validating line of sight, so it can accidentally shoot obstacles or even its own allies.

Attack the Cop Bot from the side or rear to bypass its frontal shield. Since it deactivates once all other enemies are dead, one viable strategy is to ignore it entirely and focus on clearing the rest of the room, at which point the Cop Bot becomes inactive. If forced to engage it directly, use knockback or abilities that reposition it to expose an unshielded angle before committing to a full assault.
