Frostbiter
Movement: 4
Frostbiter is a fearsome ice-elemental mini-boss that appears in the Ice Age chapter and can also replace The Flushmaster in The Sewers during snow weather conditions. With 200 HP and Movement 4, it is both durable and fast, using wide-area attacks that slow and disorient the entire party. Its signature quirk is that it always slides as if on ice tiles when knocked back, regardless of the actual terrain.
Frostbiter has two main attacks: Blizzard (IceElementalBlizzard) unleashes a large roar that knocks all units back 1 tile and inflicts +1 Speed Down; Frost Breath (IceElementalBreath) targets three directions simultaneously — forward and both diagonals — applying +2 Slow and knockback to any units caught in the cones. These attacks stack debuffs quickly, dragging the party's effective action economy down to a crawl.
Long-range attacks that avoid the Frost Breath's cone are essential — flanking from the sides or rear avoids one of its primary breath vectors. Speed Down and Slow stacking can cripple the party's ability to reposition, so Speed-buffing items or abilities may be worth spending before this fight. Cats with the Scatological ability can instantly defeat Frostbiter outright, making this one of the rare cases where a situational ability provides a hard counter.
