Enemy
Hängenbot
Movement: 3
The Hangenbot is a 10 HP robot enemy from The Future chapter that uses teleportation to reposition strategically during combat. Unlike most enemies that move tile by tile, the Hangenbot can warp across the battlefield, making its positioning unpredictable and difficult to track. It is one of several German-themed robots in the chapter, its name suggesting a "hanging" or suspended design.
The Hangenbot follows a hit-and-run pattern: it spawns or teleports in, attacks, then retreats to a new position via teleportation. This makes it exceptionally frustrating to chase down, as it rarely stays in the same location for consecutive turns. Unlike the Herald whose teleportation triggers tile traps, the Hangenbot's repositioning serves purely as an evasion mechanism.
Area-of-effect abilities and ranged attacks that cover multiple tiles are the most reliable counters, as they can catch the Hangenbot regardless of where it teleports. Abilities that restrict movement or prevent teleportation, like Stun or Freeze, lock it in place for a turn, giving your cats a window to focus fire. In encounters with other Future chapter robots, the Hangenbot is typically lower priority than the Grosserbot or Schutzbot, but ignoring it lets its chip damage accumulate.
