Enemy
Pigeon
Flying universal enemy found in urban areas.
Pigeon is a common medium bonus bird found across all chapters of Mewgenics. With 7 HP, 5 damage, and 4 movement, it sits in the middle tier of bonus birds for both durability and speed. Pigeons are peaceful enemies that spawn with a low chance when entering a level. They move randomly to different tiles, ignoring environmental hazards like brambles, and never interact with other units. After several turns, Pigeons fly away from the level entirely.
Killing a Pigeon grants the attacker +1 All Stats Up and a bonus item at the end of combat. Possible drops include common or uncommon items and the Bird Feed trinket, which provides a +50% chance for an extra bird to spawn at the start of each battle. Bird Feed is one of the most impactful bird-related drops in the game, as it compounds over an entire run by increasing the frequency of all bonus bird encounters and their associated rewards.
At 7 HP, Pigeons are much easier to kill than Turkeys, Chickens, or Eagles (all 16 HP), making them low-commitment targets. The wiki recommends ignoring Pigeons if killing them would require poor positioning, such as moving behind enemies or abandoning a critical fight. When convenient, however, they are always worth picking off for the stat boost. Like all bonus birds, Pigeons turn hostile during the Birdemic weather event.
