Enemy
Skeleton Cat
Movement: 3
The Skeleton Cat is an undead cat enemy found in the Boneyard and Desert chapters. It has no regular HP — only 1 shield point in base form — and deals 9 damage per hit, making it a glass cannon that can one-shot or cripple cats in a single strike. Like all skeleton enemies, its real threat is resurrection: when its shield is destroyed, it collapses into a corpse with 12 shield points, and revives the next turn at full shield unless the corpse is destroyed first.
Because the Skeleton Cat has no HP, abilities that specifically target units with no health — such as thief skills — can instantly down it. Attacks that penetrate or ignore shield are similarly effective. Champion Skeleton Cats are significantly tankier with 2 shield active and 24 shield in corpse form, requiring sustained effort to bring down. The Tall Skeleton Cat is a ranged variant that also grants shield to allies, making it a support threat.
Abilities like Desecrate that destroy corpses are the most reliable permanent solution. Trample damage automatically destroys corpses on collision. If you lack corpse-destruction tools, use bleed or piercing effects that kill the Skeleton Cat without leaving a recoverable corpse in the first place. In the Boneyard and Desert, Skeleton Cats commonly appear alongside other undead, so having at least one reliable corpse-destruction ability is strongly recommended.
