Wooly Mammoth

The Wooly Mammoth is a massive Ice Age enemy with 60 HP, making it one of the highest-HP non-boss enemies in the game. It possesses Trample, which damages everything it moves through, and creates dirt tiles beneath it as it travels across the battlefield. Despite its prehistoric appearance, the Wooly Mammoth is classified as a cat-type enemy, which means caveman-type enemies will also attack it.

At the start of each turn, the Wooly Mammoth bruises and knocks back all adjacent units before acting, clearing space around itself and punishing anyone who ends their turn too close. It then follows up with a melee attack that launches targets into the air, and a separate dash attack that can cover additional ground. The combination of passive knockback, active melee, and a dash means the Mammoth threatens a wide area each turn despite its large frame.

The Wooly Mammoth's cat classification means it can be caught in crossfire between your cats and caveman enemies, which you can exploit by positioning to let cavemen attack the Mammoth instead of your party. Its 60 HP pool requires sustained damage to bring down, so chipping away from range while avoiding its start-of-turn knockback zone is the safest strategy. Avoid clustering cats adjacent to it at the end of your turn, as the pre-turn bruise and knockback will punish any unit caught next to it.
