Volcano

Volcano is a Skill Event encountered in the Jurassic/Crater area of Mewgenics. Your cat climbs to the top of an active volcano and looks down into the magma-filled chasm below. The event offers a high-risk sacrifice gamble, a quest progression option, or a safe exit.

The Sacrifice option kills your cat most of the time, destroying them and their equipped gear. However, there is a rare chance the cat survives and is rewarded with one of three Fetin disorders: Orange Fetin (mana and healing on kill), Black Fetin (full mana restore when an ally is downed), or Purple Fetin (3 extra level-up rerolls). All Fetins carry a 10% chance per turn of AI-controlling your cat, but this downside scales with Luck and drops to just 1% at +15 Luck. Black Fetin is particularly strong with abilities like Flatline, Play Dead, or Seppuku that intentionally down allies for controllable mana refills.

The Place Antenna option appears when carrying the Receiver Antenna quest item (dropped by the C-800 boss). Success completes the antenna quest and progresses toward unlocking The Infinite, a secret endgame area. Failure kills the cat, so bring a high-QUEST cat. The Ignore option lets you walk away safely with no consequences.

The Fetin disorders are likely a reference to thetans from Scientology. The volcano connection is a nod to the Xenu origin story, where frozen aliens were dropped into Earth's volcanoes, as famously depicted in the South Park episode "Trapped in the Closet."
