Cardboard Set

The Cardboard Set is an early-game set that fixes its own core weakness — once equipped, the Fragile property on pieces is negated, so the set doesn't crumble mid-fight. The +2 Shield bonus is modest, but having reliable, non-breakable gear in the early chapters gives you a stable foundation while you hunt for stronger sets. A good pickup when you need stability over power.

Cardboard Set pieces include Cardboard Hat (Head), Cardboard Necklace (Neck), Cardboard Mask (Face), and several Trinket variants. The trinket options allow you to fit the set into your loadout even if weapon slots are occupied by non-Cardboard gear. The 3-piece bonus provides +3 Armor (in some versions) and removes the Fragile property from all Cardboard pieces, converting flimsy throwaway gear into dependable early-game equipment.

Cardboard Set is best treated as a stopgap option in the early game. The armor bonus is modest compared to Bone or Scrap Set bonuses, but the easy assembly and self-healing of its Fragile weakness makes it reliably available. Don't hold onto it in the late game once more powerful themed sets become accessible. For classes that don't have early set synergies, Cardboard bridges the gap until better pieces appear.
