Caveman Set

The Caveman Set rewards going full brute — keep your Intelligence at 1 or below and gain Brace 5, an enormous damage reduction bonus. This creates a deliberate build constraint where you avoid Intelligence-boosting items and mutations to maintain eligibility. The payoff is exceptional physical damage reduction that makes you incredibly hard to kill through normal means, perfectly suited to melee brawlers who plan to stand and fight.

Caveman Set is built from Caveman Wig (Head), Caveman Necklace (Neck), and Caveman Eyebrows or Wooly Beard (Face variants). The set occupies Head, Neck, and Face slots. The 3-piece bonus activates conditionally: if your Intelligence stat is 1 or lower at the end of your turn, you gain Brace 5 — a massive damage reduction that effectively halves incoming physical damage at those stacks.

Caveman Set is a commitment build. You must actively avoid raising Intelligence — skip Intelligence stat upgrades at level-up, avoid INT-boosting mutations, and watch out for items that passively raise it. The payoff of Brace 5 is significant enough to justify the constraint for pure melee builds that never intended to cast spells. Works especially well with Fatty or Guts Set for max HP stacking, since high Constitution lets you absorb even the hits that bypass the Brace reduction. The Transmitter Set — which drains your Intelligence to boost allies — can actually help maintain the low-INT condition while providing team support.
