Redacted

Redacted is a sidequest face armor that blinds the player to key battle information: all health bars appear full, health values display as "???", and all status effects are hidden. Fighting without feedback forces cats to act on instinct alone. Complete the sidequest to earn the Paper Bag, which replaces the blindness with a powerful Charisma scaling effect.

Hiding health bars and status effects strips you of the primary information you use to prioritize targets and manage status conditions. You cannot tell how close an enemy is to death, cannot see your own debuffs, and cannot evaluate whether a status application was successful. This is especially disruptive for ability-heavy builds that rely on tracking specific status conditions like Poison, Sleep, or Burn stacks to time follow-up attacks.

During the Redacted sidequest phase, equip it on a cat who fights with simple, reliable strategies that do not depend on health-tracking or status monitoring. Heavy melee attackers or cats with AoE damage deal with the information blackout best. Complete the sidequest quickly to earn the Paper Bag and escape the blindness. The Paper Bag is a significantly stronger item, making the temporary suffering worthwhile.
