Rusting Helmet is a common head armor that provides 1 Shield, the Metal tag, and a status effect at the end of each turn. As a common item it's a basic floor for head slot coverage, but the per-turn status application is a genuinely useful passive that carries through even in the late game. Good for early runs when better helmets haven't appeared yet.

StatusEachTurnEnd fires at the end of every turn, independent of actions taken. This consistent passive output continues throughout the entire fight without any requirements. The Shield:1 is minimal and mostly symbolic, but it counts as existing shield coverage for status interactions that require a shield to be present. The Metal tag adds potential interactions with Magnetism or metal-themed item sets.

Rusting Helmet is a solid early-game placeholder that provides free per-turn status pressure from the first fight. Replace with a higher-rarity head piece offering better shield values as soon as one appears. The per-turn status is its only meaningful contribution past the early game, which puts it below specialized options like Throbbing Crown at higher rarities. Best treated as reliable common coverage while hunting for something better.
