Flash Flood
Rain: 4; SpawnExtraThingsOnBattleStart: {"tile":"WaterTile","number":[40,60]}
Flash Flood is the most extreme water-terrain weather effect in Mewgenics, generating a massive number of water tiles that can cover the majority of the battlefield. Like all water weathers, it creates a Persistent Water Element and makes every unit Wet, but the sheer volume of water tiles it produces fundamentally transforms how combat plays out.
With so much of the arena covered in water, ground-based movement becomes painfully slow. Melee builds that need to cross the map to engage enemies will spend multiple turns slogging through water tiles, burning actions on movement instead of attacks. Classes and abilities that grant flight, jump, or teleport become near-mandatory for maintaining any kind of offensive tempo.
The upside is that Flash Flood creates the ideal conditions for Electric and Ice synergy builds. Electric abilities conduct through water tiles and Wet units with incredible efficiency, and with water covering most of the map, a single well-placed Electric attack can chain across enormous distances. Ice builds can freeze water tiles to create impassable frozen terrain, locking down enemy movement while your ranged cats pick them off from safety.
Flash Flood shares the critical Desert interaction with all water weathers: if it spawns at the house hub before entering The Desert, it overrides Heat Wave. Given how thoroughly Flash Flood floods the arena, Desert encounters under this weather become almost trivially easy for water-synergy teams.
Flash Flood is classified as a rare weather and can appear in any biome. When it does appear, it rewards players who have invested in Electric or Ice builds and punishes teams that rely on ground mobility.
